What does it actually do to my sound?

It adds harmonic content in a way that affects color, image, and perceived weight — inspired by hardware harmonic processing. It's not a saturator or a traditional exciter. The character it adds is shaped by what you run through it. Throw it on something and cycle through the three modes. Trust your ears. Pick the one that serves the mix.

How am I supposed to use it?

Load it, pick a mode, and move on. No knobs to set, no drive to dial in. It's a quick decision — I, II, or III. If none of those are hitting, hold Shift and click any button to engage a fourth mode. That's the whole workflow.

Do I need an iLok dongle?

A free iLok account is all you need. Once purchased, your license can be stored locally on your computer via iLok License Manager — no dongle required.
